We will begin the day at 10 a.m. in room 300 south of the State Office Building with a greeting from MFU President Doug Peterson, and then members and staff will spend the day meeting with legislators, attending committee hearings and also meeting with other elected officials. The day usually ends about 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity for MFU members to connect with their legislators and also help MFU make our presence felt at the capitol. Local food 101 will be presented on Tuesday, April 13 at the Aitkin City Hall in Aitkin. Cost will be $5/person. The third annual Minnesota Farmers Union and Minnesota Farmers Union Insurance Agency golf fun day (a benefit for Lake Sarah youth camp improvements) will be held on Wednesday, June 23 at the Mahnomen Country Club in Mahnomen. The event will start at 2:15 pm for the first nine holes, with a dinner break starting at 6:15 pm. You can golf for $30 or $40 respectively. A dinner meal will be furnished for the golfers, or if anyone would like to come to dinner at a cost of $15 will cover dinner and the prizes. The annual Ottertail County picnic will be held on Sunday, August 1 at the home of John Swartz, 51375 Rocky Ridge Road in Henning.
