Farm Business Transition Workshop
Sturgeon Lake City Hall
5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Recent surveys in Pine County indicated that maintaining an active agricultural industry is important to the residents of the community. Further surveying of Pine County farmers highlighted that transitioning existing farms to new ownership is an educational topic of interest. On Nov. 8, Pine County, in conjunction with Pine County Farmers Union, Carlton County Farmers Union, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Renewing the Countryside, University of Minnesota Extension and Northeast Forage and Grassland Council will be hosting a workshop on farm transitions in Sturgeon Lake.

The event will feature the nationally touring drama Map of My Kingdom, roundtable discussion and a pulled pork meal. Farmers anticipating retirement and farmers preparing to take ownership of an existing farm are encouraged to attend. Register by Nov. 1 by calling 320-216-4220 or email Caleb Anderson at caleb.anderson@co.pine.mn.us. Cost is $10/person.
