MN youths attend National Farmers Union All-States Leadership Camp; New Richland youth elected to Farmers Union National Youth Advisory Committee

PAUL (August 16, 2010) - Youths from across the country spent a week in Colorado at the National Farmers Union Leadership Camp including Minnesotans Matthew Anderson, son of Kristy Stoneouse of Trail; Oliver Brase, son of Phillip and Sigrid Brase of Waseca; Ryan Bruns, son of Todd Bruns of Olivia & Jean Duane of Aberdeen, SD; Jacob Farmer, son of Pam Farmer of Long Lake; Abby Gebhart, daughter of Brian and Barb Gebhart of Chaska; Kelsey Kasella, daughter of Kevin and Pat Kasella of Royalton; Levi Koenen, son of Lyle and Sandy Koenen of Clara City; Sarah Lundberg, daughter of Julie & Chris Lundberg of Chaska; Sarah Ritter, daughter of Dale Ritter & Gail Doyle of Chokio; and Chandler Winkels Muff, son of Larry Muff & Victoria Winkels of New Richland.

"Farmers Union All-States Leadership Camp provides an opportunity for these youth to find themselves and to build and strengthen skills they already have," said Doug Peterson, Minnesota Farmers Union President.

Bell Plaine youth was at National Farmers Union Convention as member of the Youth Advisory Council

St. Paul (March 16, 2009) - Sam Farmer Lies, son of Tim Lies and Kathy Farmer of Belle Plaine recently returned from the National Farmers Union (NFU) convention in Washington, D.C.NFU President Roger Johnson, Sam Farmer Lies, and Tom Buis, former NFU President

As a member of the National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC), he served as a page during the convention, where Special Orders of Business, and National Farmers Union policy were discussed, as well as the election of a new National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson occurred.  The NYAC represents youth throughout the United States and assists with planning and staffing the organization's All-States Leadership Camp.  Each of the individuals was elected by their peers at the 2008 All-States Camp to serve on the 2009 council.
