SUMMARY:Climate Cohort Summer Event
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Farmers Union\, with support from the Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council\, is launching a Climate Cohort of Minnesota agricultural education teachers. \nThe program offers an opportunity for up to 14 teachers to participate in a learning cohort that provides participants with connections to Minnesota farmers who are implementing climate-smart agricultural practices. \nThere will be two online sessions and a three-day in-person event. The in-person event is June 16-18 at the University of Minnesota\, Morris. Participants will  be staying on campus in the Prairie Greens Residence Hall. \nGeneral agenda items include: \n\nGuest speakers – climate leaders\, local farmers\, university researchers\, and more\nWorkshops showcasing climate curriculum resources\nFarm tours\nNetworking social\n\nOther notes: \n\nEvent is part of the climate cohort programming\, offered at no cost to teachers\nTeachers must have applied and been accepted to attend.\n\nApply to the program at https://bit.ly/ClimateCohortApp. Email winona@mfu.org for more information.

DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Farmers Union is organizing the Green Ammonia Summit to bring together private sector partners\, technical experts\, energy and utility companies\, researchers\, policymakers and farm organizations to discuss the future of green fertilizer both in Minnesota and beyond. \nThe event is 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the University of Minnesota Morris Oyate Hall\, 600 East 4th Street\, Morris. \nThe goals of the Green Ammonia Summit: \n\nShare current science and technology of green fertilizer\, including climate benefits;\nExplore the relevance of green fertilizer toward corporate Scope 3 greenhouse gas inventory accounting as well as new low carbon-intensity fuel markets;\nIdentify opportunities for cooperative development and farmer ownership of green fertilizer production;\nAnd develop multi-sector recommendations to support the expansion of green fertilizer production and use in Minnesota and beyond.
