Register now for MFU summer camps
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Registration is open for Minnesota Farmers Union’s Summer Camps.
Held at Sibley State Park near New London, the multi-day overnight camps provide opportunities for youth ages 8 to 18 to discover new passions, step away from screens and build skills that last a lifetime.
“For more than 80 years, Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) has brought young people from across the state together to grow their leadership skills, learn about cooperatives and build community at summer camps,” said MFU President Gary Wertish. “MFU summer camp leaders encourage campers to not only relax and have fun but also to experiment with new skills. Many past campers have used the skills learned at camp to be leaders in Farmers Union and in other organizations.”
Camp dates and locations:
- Elementary Camp for ages 8 to 11, Tuesday, July 14 to Friday, July 17.
- Junior Camp for ages 11 to 14, Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24.
- Senior Camp for ages 14 to 18, Sunday, July 26 to Friday, July 31
“At Minnesota Farmers Union summer camps, young people learn that their voices matter,” said MFU Vice President Anne Schwagerl. “Through hands-on advocacy training and real conversations about how democratic systems work, campers build the confidence to lead in their communities. Just as important, they unplug, get outdoors, and form the kind of connections that grow lifelong civic engagement.”
In addition to the overnight camps, MFU is hosting a day camp based out of its St. Paul office at 305 Roselawn Ave. E. The camp is geared to children ages 6 to 8 and is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Day Camp dates are Monday, June 8 to Friday, June 12.
The Twin Cities Day Camp is an opportunity for young campers to sample MFU’s cooperative and agricultural curriculum while getting plenty of time to play outdoors, create arts and crafts and make new friends.
