DULUTH, Minn. — Building on the success of the inaugural sold-out Minnesota Cooperative Summit, five statewide leaders are coming together to host the second annual Co-op Summit, July 28-29 at The College of St. Scholastica.
CoMinnesota, Minnesota Farmers Union, The College of St. Scholastica, Northspan and Arrowhead Regional Development Commission are collaborating to host the event, which will celebrate Minnesota’s rich history of cooperation, showcase the wide variety of co-op businesses, and invite new voices to foster resilience and opportunity in local communities.
“The cooperative model has helped Minnesotans come together to solve challenges and stay resilient for generations,” said Katie Marty, of CoMinnesota. “This year’s Summit will explore how cooperation can meet our current moment by creating solutions that keep wealth and decision-making rooted in local communities and economies.”
The event is designed for both those deeply rooted in cooperative work and those exploring it for the first time. Attendees will hear real-life success stories, discover cooperative strategies, tour local Duluth co-ops, and connect across sectors and geographies.

About CoMinnesota
CoMinnesota began in 2011 as an informal network of cooperative enthusiasts who came together to organize events, publish a newsletter, and build community around cooperative values. It has served as a connective thread across Minnesota’s co-op landscape—bringing people together to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the movement.
In 2024 CoNorth, a St. Paul-based nonprofit cooperative development center focused on affordable housing options in Minnesota and Wisconsin, adopted CoMinnesota as a formal program.
