Farm to Fiber Festival
What: A new event celebrating the connection between agriculture and handmade arts is coming to Ivanhoe with the launch of the Farm to Fiber Festival, a community-focused celebration of local fiber production, rural creativity and the journey from raw wool to finished textile.
When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 13
Where: Gilson Field and Park, Ivanhoe
More information: Designed as a hands-on, family-friendly event, the festival will feature fiber artists, educational displays, interactive activities, and opportunities to connect with farmers, fiber artists, and makers western Minnesota and beyond.
Artisans will demonstrate every stage of the fiber-making process, including shearing, skirting, washing, carding, spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting and crocheting. Vendors will have similar fiber wares for sale and a fiber crafting event will be free for kids to participate in and take a small wool craft home.
