In 2023, the Minnesota Farmers Union Foundation launched the Cooperatives for Climate grant program to support farmer-led cooperatives advancing solutions to pressing economic and climate-related challenges. The program offers a compelling proof of concept: targeted, place-based investments in cooperative development can unlock lasting, farmer-led climate solutions while strengthening local economies.
