Stu Lourey’s primary responsibility is making sure that MFU members are well-represented at the state Capitol and other places where people are making policy decisions that affect family farmers and rural
communities. Stu joined the team in March of 2019. Prior to MFU, he worked for Minnesota Senators Tina Smith and Al Franken, where part of his focus was making healthcare more affordable and tackling the price of prescription drugs. He graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and his roots remain in northern Pine County where his family raises beef cattle. When not at MFU, Stu enjoys camping, riding motorcycles, and walking his lab, Jackson.
