Brown County chapter to host climate resiliency meeting

April 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Brown County Farmers Union is hosting a meeting on climate resiliency, “Surviving Climate Change…Along for the Ride.”

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Dawg Haus Bar and Grill in Sleepy Eye. All are welcome.

Anyone interested in the challenges of our changing climate, its effects on our lives and the lives of our children, and how to contribute to the healing of the earth will learn from the program.

Presenters will be Katie Black and Ariel Kagan. Black is the Extension Educator with the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership. Kagan is the Minnesota Farmers Union Climate and Working Lands Program Director.

They will be speaking on creating a framework for resiliency on farms and how we can live with the changes that come with a different sort of climate, both short and long term. What are actionable steps all of us can take to deal with a changing planet on our farms and in our homes? Following the excessive rains of last spring and the warmest winter in history, living with climate change is especially topical.

The meeting is free and open to the public. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Come before 7 p.m. and have a meal and support a new local business.

For more information, call Randy Krzmarzick, 507-794-2382 or Sue Griebel, 507-354-4206.
