Six MFU county organizations earn NFU leadership award

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Six Minnesota county Farmers Union organizations earned the National Farmers Union (NFU) Leadership Achievement Award at the 123rd anniversary convention held earlier this month in Oklahoma City.

The award recognizes county Farmers Union organizations from across the nation that demonstrate outstanding leadership and engagement within their communities.

Counties earning the award:

  • Chisago, for the eighth time,
  • Dakota, for the seventh time,
  • Kanabec, for the second time,
  • Olmsted, for the second time,
  • Pine, for the second time,
  • Swift, for the eighth time,

“We think all members of Minnesota Farmers Union are outstanding, and it’s rewarding to see them recognized on the national stage,” said Minnesota Farmers Union Membership Director Claudine Arndt. “The leaders and members of Chisago, Dakota, Kanabec, Olmsted, Pine and Swift counties participated in several events and activities to earn this national recognition. I congratulate all the award-winning counties on this marvelous accomplishment.”

More than 450 family farmers, ranchers and supporters attended the NFU Convention, held March 9-11.
