MFU has scheduled 15 Rural Issue Discussions around the state to hear directly from farmers and rural residents about the important issues affecting farmers and rural communities. Key expected topics are health insurance, hunger and farmer’s markets, beginning farmer programs, buffer rules, property taxes, ditch mowing regulations, and commodity prices.
Special guests include Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman, Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Emily Johnson Piper, Deputy Agriculture Commissioner Matt Wohlman, and MFU President Gary Wertish.
